The Southampton Animal Shelter has many volunteer opportunities for all ages. Activities include: Walking dogs, socializing cats, socializing puppies and kittens, laundry help, events, adoptathons, posting flyers, and much more.

The opportunities available will vary depending on the month and season, but could potentially include office work, help with special events, help in the gardens and assistance on their open days.
The Water Mill Museum is looking for a conscientious, reliable student to prepare a diagram and alphabetize the list of names on our Celebration Brick Path. He or she must identify in which sector each brick is located and list it in alphabetical order. Part of this task must be done outdoors and a museum board member will help the volunteer get started. The volunteer may choose when he or she would like to do the project - during the winter when the museum is closed to the public, or when we are open (Memorial Day through Columbus Day.)
East Hampton Food Pantry helps over 400 families in East Hampton, and estimates that the number will rise this winter. Volunteers are needed at the food pantry.

The food pantry is only open from Tuesday at 10am to 1pm. Volunteers do sorting/bagging of vegetables, carrying cardboard to the dumpster, sweeping up, carrying bags for people who need help getting to their cars, and basically anything that needs to be done.
